He seems like a busy guy but wow, he really went the extra mile to hook me up with a perfect solution. I will close with this, Yoshi was incredibly generous with his time but in turn, I was very very thorough in providing him very detailed feedback (screenshots, platform/OS data, step-by-step test logs) so if you need to reach out, don't expect someone to create magic from a half-baked question. I wanted to share and hope everybody has a similar experience. This was a LOOOOONG search for me and I'm thrilled to see it all working. So I have two buttons I use to control volume that are consistent no matter what app I'm using. Nice thing is the Default set will "cascade down" to all sub-sets for any keys you do not otherwise change in that subset. Just look closely: when you select a new device it will default back to the "Default" app setting, so if you are working mods for a specific app, it is a one-two step, select the device (via pulldown) then select the app, also via pulldown. Second item: you can choose and config different devices in the Systems Preferences panel where Steermouse now lives. I went to Steermouse on a clean OS install and it worked perfectly on my Razer once I ran the updater. If you have old legacy USB drivers (USB Overdrive, Karabiner, etc) it is probably best to uninstall them before experimenting with this. I will offer this from my own ventures before Yoshi custom-built this update. Anybody with a registered copy of Steermouse can run the updater to get the Razer control. BUT (and man is this guy gracious) he posted the updater described above to his dropbox and told me I could share. Yoshi has not posted a new product version as the time of this writing it may come out in the June release. As far as providing in-depth configuration of what happens when you click a key. But DO NOT go into it looking for an LED / RGB configuration tool. Personally I look at the screen and not the peripheral so thats fine by me. I am spinning happy.Ĭlarification: Steermouse is about key control (mapping, macros, functions, etc) but it is NOT a light-show driver. That same driver is also giving me full control of my Logitech G600 MMO gaming mouse. Today he sent me an updater for the Steermouse that now runs my G600 AND my OrbWeaver FLAWLESSLY on my M-1 Mac Mini running Big Sur 11.4. Incredibly, he sent me a prototype driver, which sparked a couple quick laps of sending him diagnostics and such and. It handled the G600 beautifully and we discussed the Razer left-hand keypad. I reached out to Yoshi, who is the brain behind the Steermouse universal USB device controller. programming environment. For everyone like me who have been looking for a way to easily and reliably program some of the more elaborate controllers on a Mac, I gotta share what just happened. They also have a forum - and the developer and some users were very helpful over the weekend. I think a lot of their users are gamers - who really want to customize.īut, after about an hour of looking thru their tutorials, I understood how to program the basics (what I had with Logitech and a lot more). Apparently, you can use multiple mouse buttons at once to do yet other functions, which is probably beyond what I'm going to do. I haven't even begun to tap into what it can do. It works with any mouse, tablet, keyboard, etc. Thought this would be perfect for other Logic users. for all the mouse buttons on my MX Revolution - giving me 4 or 5 times the number of buttons to use in Logic. It allows me to setup modifiers like control, alt, shift, etc. The only ones I'd heard of, USB Overdrive and SteerMouse, didn't give me exactly what I wanted.įound this cool mouse driver over the weekend that I'd never heard of? After a log showed the Logitech drivers froze my Mac Pro, I went searching for a replacement.
